When Did You Last Check On Your Shed Or Garage?

The security of your outbuildings, such as sheds and garages, often takes second place to securing your home.
Many people underestimate the value of the items they store in their outbuildings. However, sheds and garages can contain high value items such as bicycles, gardening equipment and tools - as criminals are fully aware of the value of these goods it is best to make sure that you have taken every possible precaution.

Thefts from insecure sheds are common but there are some simple measures you can take to prevent this from happening:

• Clearly mark all your garden and power tools with your postcode

• Make sure all doors are fitted with good quality locks or Solid Secure padlocks and kept locked

• Secure hasps with coach bolts or anti-tamper screws

• Photograph valuable and unusual garden ornaments and keep these in a secure place within your property.
