Law For Forces – FREE Legal Service

The School of Law at Queen Mary University of London established a legal advice centre in 2006, which is open to the general public. Through their Law For Forces Project, they can offer FREE legal advice to those currently serving in the Armed Forces and their families (as well as Veterans) in areas such as:
  • Landlord and tenant disputes
  • Freehold and leasehold disputes
  • Employment issues
  • Consumer transactions
  • Private contracts
They can also advise on the following matters as part of other projects that they run at the centre:
  • Intellectual property
  • Discrimination
  • Family Law
  • Hate crime
  • Company law for start-ups, businesses with a turnover of less than £100,000 and social enterprises with a turnover of less than a £1 million if non-profit and a turnover of less than £250,000 if profit-making
  • Revenge porn
  • Immigration and Asylum
  • Criminal Law (offences and procedures)
The advice offered will be confidential. If you have a legal issue which the team cannot advise on, they can signpost you on to an organisation that will be able to assist you.
You don’t have to travel to the University of London to access this service, advice is able to be given either over the phone or via Skype sessions.
