Crimestopper's Domestic Abuse campaign #YouAreNotPowerless

Following the success of our #YouAreNotPowerless social media campaign which ran throughout September and October 2020, from today we're re-running the campaign to raise awareness of our anonymous service in relation to domestic abuse.

Lasting 3 weeks, we want to continue to empower bystanders - friends, neighbours, employers, colleagues or family members - who suspect someone is a victim or perpetrator of domestic abuse to speak up and tell us what they know.

Thanks to our combined efforts in 2020, anonymous Crimestoppers information:

* enabled police to conduct a covert intervention to safeguard a female who was a victim of domestic abuse.

* led to the arrest of a suspected perpetrator of domestic abuse and the safeguarding of multiple women.

* led police to visit an address where the suspected victim disclosed previously unreported abuse. The perpetrator was subsequently arrested and charged.
